2017 main events/accomplishments / education
1) Moving to Brazil - June , July and August of 2017 to teach Portuguese to Harvard Students in an Portuguese Language Immersion program in Recife - Brazil
2) Collaborating with California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) Arts Initiative. Creating lesson plans available at their website for music teachers between grades 3 and 5 to explore.
3) Taught a workshop at SDGE San Diego to Science Teachers and Environmentalists for the Science Alliance Meeting on how to engage students and science in the learning process.
4) Claudia Lyra graduated with a Masters degree at SDSU in Dual Language Education Bilingual : Arts and Literature Program thesis. Conferences, presentations and lectures in Language and Arts education
5) Assembly programs with Nós de Chita at several elementary schools / Arts Integration Program at Coronado Middle School / Arts and Science Programs with Climate Change Alliance
6) Community building through Brazilian Rhythms workshop - big attendance in NOV 17 at Balboa Park with special guest Jonathan Rothman from Canada/ Los Angeles

Brazil Cultural Center is part of the residency and Assembly program at Young Audiences of San Diego as well as Center for the World Music. It has certified teaching artist who since 2007 take Brazilian culture to arts programs at schools in San Diego. The pic show an image of children making images associates to folk tales from Brazil, after dancing, singing and playing.

- DEC 8th - 4:30pm - Normal Heights Community Ctr - Nos de Chita will perform at the Young Audiences Artist Appreciation event. Between other performers, the group will share Brazilian Rhythms using Body Percussion and Capoeira.
- DEC 12th - 8pm - Claudia Lyra will be a guest percussionist at the Choro Sotaque Music Concert at 98 Bottles - 8 to 9:30pm.
- DEC 12th - 10pm to 11:30pm - Claudia Lyra will play percussion with Dani Lasalvia on voice and guitar and Julien Cantelm on drums - #1 Bar - Hillcrest SD.

Brazilian Music Ensemble with Dani Lasalvia, Julien Cantelm and Claudia Lyra is a gift to San Diego.
Their repertoire brings bossa nova, classical Brazilian tunes, unique style of Milton Nascimento songs, Chico Buarque, Marisa Monte and so on. This will be an ensemble for all ages to enjoy.
