BRaPA is a Language and Arts School in San Diego founded in 2006. We are Brazilian born educators and creatives with a passion for sharing our culture. Our focus is on Portuguese language tutoring and Brazilian music programs for kids and adults.
BRaPA offers group and private tutoring and workshops. The lessons are mostly available on Zoom. You will study with PhD candidate and director of BRAPA, Claudia Lyra, who has a rich experience teaching Portuguese in different contexts: - Online full program at the Middlebury College - VT in 2020 and 2021. She taught 3 levels of a Portuguese Summer Program to college students during 7 weeks each year next to a team of professionals in the Linguistics and Portuguese department. - Lyra is an educator who has also worked with Harvard University, San Diego State University and MIT University teaching students Portuguese and Brazilian culture programs during the years of 2015, 2016 and 2017. - Since 2006 she has been teaching private and group lessons at her own office and online using updated material and creative lesson plans. BRaPA also writes school curriculums implementing ARTS in education in partnership with local school districts as well as Arts and Music organizations. In addition, BRaPA supports Brazilian musicians by promoting events featuring Brazilian artists, such as Brazil in Trio Choro Group, Julio Lemos, Giba Alves (Barbatuques), Dudu Fuentes from Monobloco, Dani Lasalvia and Pedro Sá. |
